Peterson Cat has the immediate need for a Custodial Supervisor based at either our San Leandro, CA or Hillsboro, OR locations.
SUMMARY
The Custodial Supervisor is responsible for ensuring orderly, safe, and efficient cleaning operations at Peterson facilities. This working supervisor position is responsible for planning, coordinating, directing, training, and mentoring Peterson’s custodial staff. Assists with monitoring the cost, supplies, schedule, and scope of custodial-based projects to assure best quality and value. Performs Custodian job functions when not performing supervisory functions.

Plan, organize, and monitor the work of custodial personnel; ensure facility cleaning work is performed timely and effectively; ensure standardization of products and processes used across Peterson facilities
Establish and measure effectiveness of custodial staff schedules, duties, and procedures
Ensure custodial supplies are ordered in advance, properly stocked, and orders are approved in a timely manner
Maintain official records and documentation related to custodial activity.
Monitor work completed by and be the primary contact for custodial vendors
Recommend process improvements and alternative sourcing options to supervisor, and assist supervisor with related cost/price/value analyses
Keep supervisor apprised of any circumstances that may impact custodial-based projects and promptly escalate issues with custodial vendors to supervisor
Perform the following Custodian functions when not performing supervisory functions:
Sweep, mop, and scrub floors
Empty trash, garbage, and recycling containers daily
Clean and wash walls, window, door panel, and sills
Clean restroom fixture and refill dispensers
Dust furniture, wall, machine, and furniture
Assist Facilities team with custodial-related projects, including but not limited to the development of new contract terms and conditions, obtaining building permits, price analysis, and defining scope of work
Participate in JumpStart meetings regularly, allowing others to lead the meeting and helping to inject enthusiasm and energy into meetings.
Maintain punctual, regular, and predictable attendance.
Travel up to 20% of the time to Peterson locations to monitor work quality of custodial staff and custodial vendors, assist with custodial-related projects, and conduct project job walks with suppliers and branch employees.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or GED and a minimum of five (5) years of directly related experience in Facility or Custodial Services, preferably in a heavy industrial environment; or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
Supervisory experience is preferred.
