Peterson Cat has a need for a part-time Retail Store Clerk at our San Leandro, CA location. The schedule for the job is Monday through Thursday from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM.

SUMMARY

This position manages the daily operations of Peterson's Retail store, Cat Emporium, including customer service, sales and inventory control.  Also responsible for managing all on-line operations through TheCat-Emporium.com.

Retail Store Main duties include:

• Greet all customers promptly with friendly and attentive service.

• Complete all sales transactions for the on-line and in store purchases.

• Daily physical inventory count and management of stock quantities in DBS.

• Work with purchasing manager on inventory count and assist with new product recommendations.

• Ensure merchandise is properly priced, displayed and stocked according to inventory levels appropriate for the store.

• Manage all merchandise returns & exchanges.

• Safeguard company assets from loss through proper paperwork, inventory count and store coverage.

• Know all store merchandise - features and benefits.

• Knowledgeable on all store policies and adheres to proper procedures to ensure the safety of the store and those in it.

• Maintain punctual, regular, and predictable attendance.  

On-Line Store Main duties include:

• Fulfill daily orders for all on-line purchases.

• Prepares packages for shipping and maintains adequate tracking information.

• Daily accounting and audit reconciliation of Sales and Inventory through Trust Commence and Shopify.

• Manage all merchandise returns & exchanges.

• Work with accounting department to reconcile any charge backs or purchase disputes.

• Maintain punctual, regular, and predictable attendance.  

QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma or GED; and a minimum of 1 year of directly related experience in retail sales, preferably in a heavy industrial environment; or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.  Customer service experience is required.

The hourly rate pay range for this position is $19.19 - 21.75. (Starting wage will depend on experience, and education. We also offer a total compensation package in addition to base salary.)
